Womanizer vs Satisfyer - An Up-to-Date Comparison (2024)

This article is about the pressure wave clitoral stimulators from Womanizer and Satisfyer, the two leading brands when it comes to this innovative type of stimulation. Womanizer exclusively produces this kind of sex toy anyway, but Satisfyer also offers traditional vibrators, such as rabbit or G-spot vibrators.

Pressure wave stimulators represent a revolutionary development in the world of adult toys, differing from traditional methods of stimulation (e.g. vibration). These devices utilise advanced technology to stimulate the clitoris with gentle, pulsating pressure waves without touching it directly, which many users find particularly intense and satisfying. It should be mentioned right at the beginning that Womanizer developed and launched the very first pressure wave stimulator in 2014. The Pleasure Air technology, as the manufacturer calls it, is patented. Satisfyer copied the technology and calls it Air Pulse.

Do both deliver on their promises? Yes, but despite the common basis of their technology, the products from Womanizer and Satisfyer differ in several aspects, including range of functions, effectiveness, battery life, quality and price. In particular, the question of which brand delivers the better orgasm requires a differentiated approach.

The following comparison aims not only to highlight aspects that could be important when choosing the right product but also to help potential buyers navigate the variety of available products, so they can make an informed decision.

The packaging of Womanizer and Satisfyer

What is immediately noticeable is that Satisfyer deliberately cuts costs in certain areas in order to be able to offer cheaper products. In the beginning, for example, this was already evident in the packaging, which was mostly white, very plain, and not at all appealing. However, all Satisfyer models now come in new packaging that is not only very attractive but also sturdy. Additionally, this new packaging is now colour-coordinated with the toy inside, as has long been customary with Womanizer.

Up until August 2020, each Satisfyer pressure wave stimulator was only available in one colour. Most models released after that date are available in several colours. One year later (August 2021), the decision was also made to launch new colours for some older models, such as the top seller Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 2. Womanizer, on the other hand, not only offers several colours for each model but also often has a larger selection than Satisfyer. For example, the high-end models Womanizer Premium 2 and Womanizer Duo 2 are each available in five different colours. In fact, the Womanizer Pro W500 had the widest selection of colours, offering nine different options. However, today this older model is usually only available in the basic variants of black and white.

Despite significant improvements on Satisfyer's part, Womanizer's packaging remains superior. It reflects the elegance and premium quality the brand is known for. In addition, Womanizer uses much less plastic, if any, in its product packaging.

Differences in the Scope of Delivery

Except for the three Starlet models, the Pro40, and the Liberty 2, every Womanizer model comes with a storage pouch. Satisfyer, on the other hand, never includes a storage pouch, except with the three models of the Luxury series.

Another advantage of the Womanizer models is that many of them come with a second silicone attachment for the stimulation head. This is particularly useful for beginners, as correctly positioning the stimulation head can take some practice at first. Having a second silicone attachment in a different size is of course advantageous if the attached attachment does not fit perfectly on your clitoris. Although there are also 3 Satisfyer models that come with an additional silicone attachment, this does not provide an alternative fit but is instead a Liquid Air attachment that enables a different type of stimulation. See “Range of Functions” for more information.

Womanizer used to include a charger with some of their models, but this is no longer the case. So now, you won't get a charger with either Womanizer or Satisfyer. However, every pressure wave stimulator from both brands still comes with a USB charging cable as standard, unless it is a battery-operated model (Satisfyer 1 and 2).

You will also find an instruction manual in the box, although this used to be much longer and more detailed for many Womanizer devices than for Satisfyer. However, this has now changed, as the Womanizer brand has taken a much more environmentally conscious approach since the introduction of the Premium Eco. Consequently, the instruction manuals for this and subsequent models are limited to the essentials. So, for all new models, e.g. Premium 2, Duo 2, Classic 2, OG, and Next, only a quick start guide is included.

Materials and Workmanship

Both manufacturers offer toys with either a plastic or a silicone surface. The materials and workmanship of Satisfyer products are solid, but not quite as high-quality and durable as those of Womanizer. This was particularly noticeable in the past, both in appearance and feel, but Satisfyer has significantly caught up in this regard. The introduction of the three Curvy models in August 2020 marked a turning point for materials and workmanship, which were raised to a whole new level of quality.

Especially with Satisfyer toys with a silicone surface, you can hardly see any difference from Womanizer products at first glance anymore. Below you can see a close-up of each brand's best model: the Womanizer Premium 2 and the Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 3, both of which have a silicone surface.

A common feature of both manufacturers is that all their models are now IPX7 waterproof (except for the old entry-level model Womanizer Starlet 1). This makes it possible to submerge the devices up to one metre under water, which means that they can also be used in the bathtub.

Design of Womanizer and Satisfyer Toys

Compared to Womanizer, which places more emphasis on functionality and elegance, Satisfyer shows much more creativity in the design of its products.

In the following gallery you will find a selection of Womanizer models to give you an idea of the brand's design. Use the side arrows to scroll through the images. Afterwards, I will introduce you to some Satisfyer models with unique designs.

Satisfyer's design philosophy seems to be based on the premise that a sex toy should not only be a tool for pleasure, but also a piece of art that appeals to the senses. Here are some examples of Satisfyer models with a unique look:

Battery Comparison Between Womanizer and Satisfyer Devices

This is, for example, an area where Satisfyer clearly chooses to saves on costs, as the battery life of Womanizer devices can be up to four times longer, depending on the model. With some high-end Womanizer models, such as the Premium 2 or the Next, the battery lasts up to 4 hours on a single charge!

The vast majority of Satisfyer models have a battery life of one hour or less. Out of nearly 60 models, only the Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 2 and the Satisfyer Penguin, both of which are in my top 5, offer a longer battery life (90 minutes). It should also be noted that Satisfyer toys lose battery power more quickly at higher settings.

Additionally, Satisfyer devices require significantly more time to charge, with some even taking up to 4 hours or longer. The charging time for Womanizer devices, on the other hand, can be 30 minutes, one hour or two hours, depending on the model.

Ultimately, however, it's important to note that battery life is not a decisive factor with this type of sex toy, as most women reach orgasm in less than 5 minutes when using a pressure wave stimulator. Even if you want to enjoy pleasure for longer, the Satisfyer's battery is still perfectly adequate.

Range of Functions and Additional Features

All Satisfyers have 11 pressure wave intensities. This is different with Womanizer, where you can find devices with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 intensity levels. Generally, the more expensive a model, the more intensity levels it offers, unless it is an older model that has already been reduced in price.

Only two Womanizer models work with vibration in addition to pressure wave stimulation, namely the Womanizer OG and the Womanizer Duo 2 (as well as the Duo 1 and the very first generation, which is called “Inside Out”). In contrast, out of approximately 60 Satisfyer models, three-quarters are equipped with a vibration motor. So if you have strong doubts and don't know whether you'll enjoy pressure wave stimulation, opting for a Satisfyer with vibration is a wiser choice. This way, at least you'll still have a lay-on vibrator if you end up not liking this type of clitoral stimulation, which is admittedly very direct and efficient. A good choice here would be the Satisfyer Twirling Pro, for example, which has a vibrating tip at one end, or the Satisfyer Dual Love with its retro look. This 2-in-1 vibrator has both a pressure wave stimulation head and an insertable shaft with vibration, which can also be used externally as a lay-on vibrator. The shaft of the Satisfyer Dual Love is straight, but if you prefer a slight curve for better access to the G-spot, then the Satisfyer Dual Pleasure from the same series is the better choice.

There are three functions exclusive to Womanizer, although not available in all models. These include the Smart Silence function, which only activates the device when it comes into contact with the skin. The afterglow function ensures a gentle end to your orgasm, allowing you to quickly return to a lower intensity level, either 1 or 3, with a single button press. And finally, there is the Autopilot function with its three automatic modes, enabling dynamic adjustment of the pressure wave intensity without manual intervention. In turn, many Satisfyer models, such as the three previously mentioned ones or the Pro 2 Generation 3, offer very interesting options, not just for solo use but also for couples. These models can be controlled manually as well as via an app. Womanizer does not yet offer the latter, at least not directly: We-Vibe uses the patented Womanizer Pleasure Air Technology in its app-controlled pressure wave model “Melt”, as the two companies have been part of the same group (WOW TECH Group) since 2018.

Regarding Womanizer, it is the “Climax Control” function, which allows for adjusting the depth of the pressure waves. It is currently only available in the Womanizer Next. As for Satisfyer, it is the “4D Deep Satisfaction Mode”, which is currently only integrated in the Satisfyer Magnetic Deep Pulse. This function allows for adjusting the distance between the membrane in the stimulation head and the clitoris. Naturally, a shorter distance results in more intense stimulation.

And last but not least, both brands have something in common that is directly or indirectly related to stimulation through water. Satisfyer has three models, namely the Pro 2 Classic Blossom, the Pro 2 Modern Blossom and the Pro 2 Generation 3, which feature the so-called Liquid Air technology. It aims to simulate the sensation of a jet of water hitting the clitoris. However, it is not actually a technology, but rather an alternative attachment. Its special feature is the thin silicone membrane in the centre, where other attachments have an opening. When the pressure wave motor is running, this membrane vibrates and gently taps against the clitoris. That's all it is, so there is no actual use of water. And although the sensation is quite pleasant, for me it is not at all similar to that of a pulsating jet of water.

Womanizer, on the other hand, offers real water-based stimulation with its “Wave” model. This product is a shower head that can be used for both ordinary showers and intimate massages. It was developed in close collaboration with the renowned bathroom specialist Hansgrohe. The Womanizer Wave has three different water jet settings, each adjustable in intensity. My experience with it was highly stimulating, and the resulting orgasm was exceptionally intense.

But now back to pressure wave stimulators, the main topic of this article.

Pressure Wave Intensity

Although you get the impression that the Satisfyer is ‘rougher’ (partly due to the noise it produces), it doesn't actually feel more intense. In contrast, the Womanizer's pressure wave stimulation feels softer yet more intense. You really have to try it out for yourself to understand this. Therefore, low to medium intensity levels are usually sufficient, which also greatly benefits the noise level and battery life. Since the Womanizer is gentler on the body, it is more suitable for beginners than the Satisfyer.

Incidentally, it is often assumed that smaller Womanizer models with fewer intensity levels are not as powerful and offer much weaker stimulation, which is why beginners often opt for these models. However, this is a misconception, and it often happens that many women quickly abandon their new pressure wave toy because the stimulation was too intense for them. So if you are a newbie or have a particularly sensitive clitoris, you should definitely go for a Womanizer with more intensity levels (10, 12 or 14). The levels here are very well balanced and their transition is smooth, which means they start at a very gentle intensity and there are no large jumps between them. The Womanizer Premium 2 and the Womanizer Next, for example, are excellent choices for both beginners and women who prefer intense stimulation.

Effectiveness and Orgasm

Based on my experience, the pressure wave technology of Womanizer seems more sophisticated than that of Satisfyer. It is more precise, allowing for more effective stimulation, which in turn positively impacts the quality of the orgasm.

Personally, I have found, and my friends agree, that you reach climax faster with the Womanizer than with the Satisfyer. However, we are only talking about a few minutes for both brands. On the Internet, too, there are significantly more positive reviews about Womanizer products than about Satisfyer products when it comes to their effectiveness in achieving orgasm.

Incidentally, the Womanizer is not only quicker and more effective because of its better technology, but it certainly also has to do with the shape of the silicone attachments on the stimulation head. In order for the pressure waves to have their full effect, the opening of the attachments must encircle the clitoral glans, allowing the toy to create a gentle suction. However, due to the questionable shape of the attachments of some Satisfyer models, this is only possible to a limited extent. As mentioned before, almost every Womanizer device comes with an additional silicone attachment in a different size. This extra attachment is either shorter, which means that the pressure chamber of the toy is closer to the clitoris, or its opening is wider or narrower. This allows you to change the silicone attachment at any time if it doesn’t fit your anatomy perfectly. Many Satisfyer models don’t offer this option as they don’t even have attachments, meaning you have to settle for the given size of the stimulation head’s opening.

Satisfyer does not include any additional attachments. Instead, its models vary in the size of their stimulation head openings in order to meet different needs. Also, as with Womanizer, some models have taller attachments while others have shorter ones. Furthermore, some Satisfyer models have a significantly wider and flatter silicone head, which allows for a larger contact area with the skin. This is of course a great advantage when using the vibration function that many Satisfyers offer. Therefore, before buying a Satisfyer, it might be advisable to consider whether the stimulation head of the chosen model is suitable for the shape and size of your clitoris. Whether your clitoris is rather hidden should also be a factor in your decision. In case it is, Womanizer toys are usually the better coice. By the way, the silicone attachment is not removable on all Satisfyer models, which can make cleaning a little more difficult.

Noise Level Comparison Between Womanizer and Satisfyer Devices

Womanizer devices are somewhat quieter. Even the most powerful models, Premium 2 and Duo 2, keep the noise level surprisingly low, which makes them ideal for users who value privacy. By the way, the quietest Womanizer by far is the Next, thanks to its new linear motor.

Discreet use is further guaranteed by the Smart Silence function, which is integrated into the three models mentioned above, among others, as it ensures that the device is only activated when it touches the skin. And s ince pressure wave stimulators are much quieter when they are in full contact with the skin, this makes perfect sense. Although newer Satisfyer models are indeed quieter, they can become significantly louder at higher intensity levels.

Older Satisfyers, which mostly had plastic casings, were generally louder than Womanizer models. Newer Satisfyer models, however, at least those with a silicone surface like the Curvy or the Pro 2 Generation 3, have significantly reduced this noise gap. Of course, they are only reasonably quiet when just the pressure wave motor is switched on. If you also activate the vibration, the noise will obviously get louder. In general, it can be said that a silicone surface dampens motor noise better than a casing made entirely of plastic, regardless of the manufacturer. However, when comparing Womanizer models with a plastic casing with Satisfyers made of the same material, a clear difference emerges, with Womanizer clearly having the edge.

Price Comparison Between Womanizer and Satisfyer

The prices for Womanizer models range from £69 to £189. Except for some older models that are always on sale, special offers are rarely found.

The regular prices for Satisfyer models range between £33.95 and £75.95 (except for the three models of the Luxury series, which cost £125.95), but at Sinful, all models are permanently offered at discounted prices between £16.99 and £49.99.

A comparison of the top sellers of both brands, the Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 2 and the Womanizer Premium 2, clearly shows the price difference. The Pro 2 costs £58.95 (permanently reduced at Sinful, with the offer price often being an incredible £25.99). The Womanizer Premium 2, on the other hand, has a hefty price tag of £179.

Excluding the controversial disposable models Womanizer One and Satisfyer One Night Stand, the price difference is also significant with the cheapest devices from both manufacturers. The battery-operated Satisfyer 1 and 2 models cost £26.95 - £33.95 (permanently reduced to £16.99 - £24.99 at Sinful.co.uk). The cheapest Womanizers are the three Starlet models, originally priced at £69, with the first two generations often available at discounted prices now.

Incidentally, both manufacturers also have models with a magnetic cap in their range, which are ideal for travelling. Satisfyer's models are the Traveler (£44.95 - £50.95) and the Love Triangle (£53.95 - £58.95), and Womanizer's are the two Liberty models (£89) and the To Go (no longer available).

Conclusion: Should I buy a Womanizer or a Satisfyer?

Comparing pressure wave clitoral stimulators from Womanizer and Satisfyer reveals several key differences, which can be decisive for those interested. While Satisfyer offers a wide range of products and has made a name for itself by adapting existing technologies and offering affordable prices, Womanizer, as the inventor of pressure wave technology, stands out with its profound expertise and commitment to perfection. This dedication to quality is evident in each of its products.

Womanizer is characterised not only by the precision and finesse of its technology, but also by its high-quality materials and elegant design. Satisfyer, on the other hand, stands out with a wide selection of products, including some with fancy designs, ranging from basic to multifunctional devices, and represents a cost-effective alternative with solid performance.

In terms of additional functions, Smart Silence, Afterglow and Autopilot are only available in Womanizer models, as mentioned above. However, the combination of pressure wave stimulation and vibration is present in only two Womanizer models, whereas an impressive three-quarters of Satisfyer's nearly 60 models are equipped with a vibration motor.

So, ultimately, choosing between Womanizer and Satisfyer comes down to personal preferences, the desired range of functions and, of course, your budget.
